About The Position
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct patient care and clinical support in Gastroenterology (GI) office. The LPN works closely with the entire care team and other healthcare professionals to provide safe, efficient, and compassionate care to patients with gastrointestinal conditions.
Requirements
- New York State license as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.
- Current BLS/CPR certification.
Nice To Haves
- Previous ambulatory, physician-office, medical-surgical, or GI experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Obtain and document patient information
- Perform patient assessments
- Prepare patients for GI procedures and provide appropriate pre- and post-procedure care.
- Provide patient education regarding care
- Administer treatments as ordered and within LPN scope of practice.
- Assist with telephone triage and respond to patient questions and concerns appropriately.
- Coordinate referrals, diagnostic testing, follow-up appointments, and other aspects of patient care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Follow infection-control, safety, HIPAA, and organizational policies and procedures.
- Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked clinical areas.
