This is a temporary LPN position in the Emergency Room, working 24-hours a day, during the day shift from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. The schedule includes working every other weekend and every other holiday. The role involves assessing patient health status, planning and implementing nursing interventions, providing patient care with dignity, and educating patients and families. The position also requires appropriate delegation and supervision of unlicensed personnel, prioritization of patient care, accurate documentation, and effective communication with healthcare team members. Additionally, the LPN will promote learning for colleagues and self, identify risks to patient safety, manage ethical issues in care, administer medications and IV therapy, assess and manage pain, perform triage, identify and initiate safety plans for abuse cases, complete mandated reporting, collect and document forensic evidence, maintain chain of evidence, and be knowledgeable of disaster policies. The role also involves identifying patients at risk for violent behavior and implementing interventions, as well as understanding and documenting the use of restraints. The LPN will also recognize and report abnormal laboratory and diagnostic results and identify cardiac arrhythmias.
