About The Position

Responsible for responding to requests by the physician staff. Performs other duties related to the provision of care as assigned after appropriate training. This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Caregivers may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position.

Requirements

Current Michigan License to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse required.
Successful completion of pharmacology course.
Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support, will be mandatory within 2 months of hire.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support, will be mandatory within 2 months of hire.
Critical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
Demonstrates ability to use a keyboard as may be required to perform the essential duties of the job.

Responsibilities

Responds to requests for services from areas in a timely and safe manner.
Completes documentation and records according to department policy.
Assists with vital signs/updates to patients and their family and documents in the patient record.
Screen all patient telephone calls and responses to all messages that do not require a provider.
Responsibilities include supply restocking
Perform routine diagnostic tests and treatments
Prepare and clean the patient area; sets up equipment, clean and facilitate room set up after a procedure.
Perform patient care measures including injections, minor dressing changes, and obtaining blood specimens.
Participates in activities which contribute to professional growth and development
Participates in community activities, which improve the public’s understanding of the EMS system.
Follows the hospital exposure control plans/blood borne and airborne pathogens.
