About The Position

This is a full-time position for an LPN in the Emergency Department at Methodist Hospital, working 36 hours per week on day shifts (12:00 PM - 12:30 AM) with a weekend rotation. The role involves utilizing the nursing process for patient care, collaborating with the healthcare team, evaluating patient responses to interventions, and accepting delegated nursing measures within the scope of licensure and preparation.

Requirements

• Requires graduation from a nationally accredited licensed practical nursing program.
• Requires an active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) LPN license.
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Successful completion of orientation required.

Nice To Haves

• 1-2 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.

Responsibilities

• Knows and uses the nursing process in planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care to individual patients.
• Collaborates with other members of the healthcare team.
• Evaluates response to interventions and patient status toward goal achievement.
• Accepts delegated nursing measures for which he or she knows he or she is prepared, qualified and licensed to perform.
