About The Position

Lakewood Health System is seeking a part-time LPN/CMA to join their Dermatology team. This role will provide specialized, patient-centered care for a wide range of skin conditions. The team collaborates across specialties to ensure prevention, diagnosis, and treatment are seamless, compassionate, and personalized. The mission for this position is to deliver high-quality, personalized dermatology care while fostering an efficient, supportive, and collaborative clinic environment that promotes growth and learning.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing or Medical Assistant program
• Must have and maintain a current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license or Medical Assistant certification
• BLS Healthcare Provider certification

• Prior clinic experience and familiarity with Family Medicine/specialty care
• Experience with EPIC EHR preferred
• Motivated to grow professionally in a specialty area with added compensation for MOHS training

Responsibilities

• Provide empathetic, high-quality patient care within our Dermatology clinic setting
• Support dermatology providers by scribing during procedures and patient visits
• Prepare and assist during dermatologic procedures, including biopsies, excisions, cryotherapy and MOHS surgeries
• Manage patient flow, exam room preparation, and supply organization
• Handle in-basket items, patient calls, and medication prior authorizations
• Ensure compliance with CLIA/OSHA standards and maintain surgical instruments
• Assist with specialized dermatology programs, including the iPledge Accutane registry and pathology processes
• Provide thorough patient education and post-care instructions
• Collaborate closely with dermatology providers and the broader specialty care team
