A Clinical Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for planning, supervising, and evaluating the nursing care of patients under the supervision of the physician, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner. Responsible for assisting the physician in providing direct patient care and health teaching designed to meet the age/developmental specific needs of the health care patients. Delivers quality care by offering excellent customer service and participating in a team-centered approach toward patient care. Collaborates with nursing and support staff regarding patient care, holistic care involving patients and families, proficiency in order entry, and provides clerical and patient-related support in the functional areas of record keeping and scheduling. Utilizes knowledge of office policy and procedure, verifies patient demographics, maintains patient records, verifies physician orders, schedules patients for appointments and referrals, prepares patients for examinations, processes patient billing and payments, greets patients and maintains office supplies. Previous experience in phlebotomy and laboratory testing/specimen preparation preferred. Excellent PC skills required.
