The Urology practice manages complex oncology patients who require extensive nursing support, including symptom monitoring and coordination of care. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional, high-quality care to a diverse patient population. In this role, you will monitor patients, record and report changes in condition, maintain accurate medical records and patient histories, administer medications and treatments, and observe and respond to adverse reactions or side effects. Additional responsibilities include performing diagnostic tests, preparing patients for examinations and procedures, managing complex inbox messages and prior authorizations, and providing patient and family education. This role is essential to supporting clinic efficiency and expanding procedural capacity, including biopsies and cystoscopies, helping to ensure high-quality care and improved operational performance. A caregiver in this role works days from 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.

Requirements

  • Graduate of Accredited LPN program
  • Florida Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Knowledge of infection control practices
  • Computer literacy

Nice To Haves

  • One year of outpatient clinical experience
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Experience with adult populations
  • Experience with EPIC
  • Urology background

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nursing care to patients.
  • Administer medication.
  • Maintain complete, accurate and up-to-date documentation in medical records and files.
  • Complete authorization forms and laboratory requisitions.
  • Implement pain management assessments and documentation.
  • Adhere to the National Patient Safety Goals as outlined by JCAHO.
  • Follow Code Blue protocol.
  • Assessing; planning, coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating the patient's progress through the entire continuum of car in conjunction with the R.N. or physician.
