Our Endocrinology Department studies the endocrine system, hormones and related diseases. Hormones are chemical messengers produced by glands that travel through the bloodstream to regulate essential bodily functions, including metabolism, growth and reproduction. As an LPN in Endocrinology, you will assist fellow caregivers in providing exceptional, high-quality care to a diverse patient population. In this role, you will directly support the practices of endocrinology providers while enhancing your nursing skills through hands-on experience and the educational resources available throughout the Cleveland Clinic system. A caregiver in this role works days from 7:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Requirements

  • Graduate of Accredited LPN program
  • Florida Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Knowledge of infection control practices
  • Computer literacy

Nice To Haves

  • One year of clinical experience
  • Previous endocrinology experience
  • Endocrinology background

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nursing care to patients.
  • Administer medication.
  • Maintain complete, accurate and up-to-date documentation in medical records and files.
  • Complete authorization forms and laboratory requisitions.
  • Implement pain management assessments and documentation.
  • Adhere to the National Patient Safety Goals as outlined by JCAHO.
  • Follow Code Blue protocol.
  • Assessing; planning, coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating the patient's progress through the entire continuum of car in conjunction with the R.N. or physician.
