About The Position

The Atrium at Veronica Drive is seeking a compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to deliver nursing care to residents in a warm, comfortable, home-like environment. The LPN works with a supportive team and helps foster lasting relationships with residents and associates. The role includes assessing and documenting residents’ status, coordinating care, supervising and mentoring resident care staff, and supporting residents’ independence. Part-time and per-diem openings are available, with a listed rate of $40–$44 per hour.

Requirements

• Current state LPN license.
• CPR certification.
• Graduate of an approved LPN program, per state requirements.

Nice To Haves

• One to two years of experience working as a nurse is preferred.
• Previous experience working with elderly people in a paid or volunteer position is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Accurately assess, communicate, and document residents’ status.
• Observe and report significant changes in residents’ behavior and health to the Resident Care Director, physician, family, Resident Care Assistants, and Executive Director in accordance with state regulations.
• Direct and supervise the daily work assignments of Resident Care Assistants.
• Mentor, guide, and direct Lead Resident Care Assistants in all aspects of their work.
• Coordinate care needs with community providers through an effective case management process.
• Balance service demands with support for resident independence.
• Recognize and help prevent elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation, and report concerns to appropriate sources in accordance with state regulations.
• Respond to emergencies and personal emergency response system alerts, and know when to call for backup.
