Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED minimum
• Current New York State LPN License & Registration
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• Infection Control Certificate
• Effective written, oral, and interpersonal English communication skills
• Basic data entry and computer retrieval skills
• Must complete fingerprinting for Department of Education (DOE) and Justice Center Security Clearance
• Occupational Health Services (OHS) Annual Assessment & Fit Test

Responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical care to a pediatric and adolescent student population under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Safely administer medications, treatments, and procedures within the LPN scope of practice; collect specimens and perform selected diagnostic tests (including venipuncture).
• Deliver clear patient/family teaching and discharge instructions tailored to the student’s developmental and cultural needs.
• Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control, safety, and disaster policies; document all care, interventions, and observations accurately in the electronic health record.
• Partner with RNs and school staff to resolve patient care issues, manage competing demands, and adapt smoothly to the changing daily workflow of a school environment.
