About The Position

As a Licensed Practical Nurse in the Allergy and Rheumatology department, you are key to the success of operations and compassionate patient care. The position is per diem and follows a Monday–Friday daytime schedule at 222 Alexander Street, Suite 3000, Rochester, NY 14607. The role involves direct patient care, medication administration, documentation, and preparing clinical areas and examination rooms.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited School of Practical Nursing or have an ASN or BSN in Nursing.
• Hold current licensure in New York State as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Hold BLS – Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Hold LPN – Licensed Practical Nurse certification through the NYS Office of Professions.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promote and restore patients’ health by completing the nursing process and collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members.
• Perform treatment procedures and provide physical, educational, and emotional support to patients, friends, and families.
• Supervise assigned team members.
• Administer medication and give or receive relevant written and verbal reports according to departmental protocols.
• Maintain concise, pertinent, and complete documentation using the computerized medical record process.
• Ensure clinical areas are properly supplied and examination rooms are available and stocked.
