LPN: Adult ED Per Diem
About The Position
The Licensed Practical Nurse works within the framework of the Patient Care Services Organization as a member of the health care team. The primary responsibilities of the Licensed Practical Nurse is to deliver patient care under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse within the realm of the New York State Practice Act. Assist patients in reaching outcomes as established by the RPN in the plan of care. The LPN gathers, and documents data related to physiologic, cognitive, cultural, and spiritual status, assists in goal directed plans of care which are evidence-based and age specific, and implements care through utilization and adherence to established standards which define the structure, process, and desired patient outcomes of the nursing process, and communicates information needing referral to RPN and reinforces teaching plan established by RPN.
Requirements
- Licensed Practical Nurse
- Knowledge of the New York State Practice Act for nursing.
- Ability to gather and document patient data.
- Ability to assist in developing and implementing care plans.
- Adherence to established nursing standards and processes.
- Effective communication skills for reporting to RPN.
- Ability to reinforce teaching plans.

- Experience in an Adult Emergency Department setting.
