About The Position

Looking for an experienced LPN to come work at a brand new assisted living located in Chesapeake, VA. MUST HAVE long-term care facility experience and administrative experience! Licensed practical nurses (LPN's) fill important roles in modern healthcare practices. Their primary job duty is to provide routine care, observe patients’ health, assist non-licensed nursing staff and registered nurses, and communicate instructions to patients regarding medication, assisted living-based care, and preventative lifestyle changes. LPN's who work in nursing homes can expect to have responsibilities that include: Admitting new residents. Assisting physicians during rounds of residents’ rooms. Assigning and delegating duties to non-licensed nursing staff. Monitoring resident care and supervising other nursing staff. Performing ongoing assessments of residents’ physical and mental health. Explaining procedures and treatment protocols to residents. and much more. An LPN’s job usually includes long periods of standing, walking, stooping, heavy lifting, and bending so it may be appropriate for an LPN to be able to lift 50 lbs independently. Risks of exposure to disease, infection, physical strain, and assault are also expected. They are usually required to be on-site around the clock to provide other services needed by the patient. Sometimes household chores and even grocery services are also performed. Do all of the necessary paperwork for residents.

Requirements

  • LPN certification
  • Administrative experience
  • CPR certification
  • BLS certification
  • Long-term care facility experience
  • Assisted living experience
