This is a Full-Time permanent 10-month position, meaning you will be working for 10 months of the year (August to June) with an eight (8) week summer break. During the summer break, you will not receive pay, but your benefits will continue. You will pay a prorated amount during the working months to cover the cost of benefits during the summer. The position performs a variety of health care related services within a school setting and assists with clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks. Under direct supervision, this 10-month position is responsible for providing basic nursing care in an assigned area. All Licensed Practical Nurses employed by the Mecklenburg County Health Department may provide nursing services during urgent and/or emergent public health events, including administration of immunizations, mass medication distribution, and providing health services in shelter environments.
