About The Position

Rocky Mountain Prep is seeking Elementary Teachers for Lower Elementary classrooms, including Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade. RMP is a movement dedicated to changing public education in Colorado by providing college access for historically marginalized students and families. They operate twelve college-preparatory schools and invest in their educators through ongoing coaching, professional development, clear expectations, transparent feedback, and individualized career pathways aligned with their PEAK values. RMP fosters a culture of rigor and love, aiming to coach, develop, and champion every team member. Elementary teachers at RMP empower students with academic knowledge, social-emotional growth, and a love of learning. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree (any subject)
  • Subject matter expertise required, as evidenced by either a record of results in teaching the content or a content-specific degree
  • Within the first year of employment, complete CDE READ Act training or CDE Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CLD) -45 contact hours.
  • Pass a background check.
  • Demonstrate Eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States at the time of hire.

  • Be a culture carrier by creating and fostering a safe environment where all students can thrive and learn from each other.
  • Bring the joy by building a strong foundational love of learning in students so that learning feels like fun, even when it’s hard work!
  • Partner with families by building strong relationships and collaborating in their children’s education.
  • Be a teammate by working with other teachers on a grade-level team, special educators, interventionists, and specials teachers to best support students and learn from peers.
  • Be a scholar of the Common Core Standards by understanding grade-level expectations, using them to define rigor, and being an expert in all subjects taught.
  • Teach data-informed lessons by ensuring all students can reach their full academic potential through assessing for mastery and adjusting instruction.
  • Champion science-based reading instruction by using research-based methods and curriculum to help students grow into well-rounded, confident, voracious readers.
  • Take ownership of student outcomes by setting high expectations, using data to guide instruction, and ensuring all scholars grow through strong planning, rigorous teaching, and timely re-teaching.
  • Build inclusive, relationship-centered classrooms by implementing proactive routines, culturally responsive practices, and consistent communication with families.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues and support staff, contribute to school-wide initiatives, and support daily operations to maintain a safe and organized environment.
  • Model RMP’s PEAK values in all interactions and remain flexible and responsive in a fast-paced, data-driven environment aligned to our evolving Concept Essence.
