Low Voltage Technician - Laguna Beach, CA
About The Position
Our enterprise-level client is seeking to add ten (10) Low Voltage Technicians to the team in Laguna Beach, CA. This is a 12-month contract with possible extensions. The role is onsite in Laguna Beach, CA, and requires a drug and background check. Hiring 10 technicians to start ASAP. The pay rate is $35 W2 per hour plus benefits. The scope of work involves drilling an entry hole into each residence, installing an ONT and WiFi router, completing one fiber splice per unit, testing optical power using an Optical Power Meter (OPM), verifying router WiFi broadcast and ensuring connectivity, and documenting completed work with photos and test results.
Requirements
- Basic splicing competency is necessary
- Moderate skill level required
- Ability to use VFL (Visual Fault Locator)
- Ability to use OPM (Optical Power Meter)
- Ability to use Fiber Splicer
- Must pass drug and background check
Nice To Haves
- Mechanical splicing does not require advanced equipment or highly specialized technicians
Responsibilities
- Drill entry hole into each residence (typically above existing coax point in wire mold)
- Install ONT and WiFi router inside the unit
- Complete 1 fiber splice per unit
- Test optical power using an Optical Power Meter (OPM)
- Verify router WiFi broadcast and ensure connectivity
- Take photos of completed work and document test results for each unit
