About The Position

EquipmentShare is seeking a Low Voltage Technician Assistant to join their team at the Corporate Headquarters in Columbia, MO. This role is crucial for supporting the IT Network and Low Voltage Installation team, focusing on rip and replace projects, low voltage installation, and camera installation. The position is part of Equipment Share’s initiative to bring network and camera installations in-house, utilizing regional installation teams. Installers will travel to various job sites to complete low-voltage rough-in, network rack installation, wireless access point deployment, camera installation, ISP coordination, and final setup. This position requires frequent travel (80%+) and overtime.

Requirements

  • Must be able to provide support to users with a professional, patient and polite attitude.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve on a regular basis.
  • Must be comfortable working independently.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to take direction from the Low Voltage Field Technician Team.
  • Willing to learn in a quick pace environment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout job sites for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and crawl in tight spaces.
  • Ability to work in unfinished construction environments.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds regularly.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in Network installation, including installing racks, switches, bridges, and access points.
  • Run low voltage cabling and pull old low voltage cabling.
  • Aid the Low Voltage Team in the on-prem installation process.
  • Perform site scans.
  • Assist Networking team with inventory and configuration.
  • Perform site clean-up upon completion.
