About The Position

EquipmentShare is hiring a Low Voltage Technician Assistant at their Corporate Headquarters in Columbia, MO. This role is part of a mission to transform the construction industry through innovative technology and support. The position requires frequent travel (80%+) and overtime. The Field Technician Assistant is responsible for aiding the IT Network and Low Voltage Installation team with rip and replace projects, low voltage installation, and camera installation. This role supports Equipment Share’s initiative to move network and camera installations in-house, utilizing regional installation teams to execute. Installers will travel to various job sites to complete low-voltage rough-in, network rack installation, wireless access point deployment, camera installation, ISP coordination, and final installation.

Requirements

  • Must be able to provide support to users with a professional, patient and polite attitude
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve on a regular basis
  • Must be comfortable working independently
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to take direction from the Low Voltage Field Technician Team
  • Willing to learn in a quick pace environment
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Education required
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout job sites for extended periods
  • Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and crawl in tight spaces
  • Ability to work in unfinished construction environments
  • Ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds regularly

Responsibilities

  • Assist in Network installation, including installing racks, switches, bridges, and access points
  • Run low voltage cabling and pull old low voltage cabling
  • Aid the Low Voltage Team in the on-prem installation process
  • Perform site scans
  • Assist Networking team with inventory and configuration
  • Site clean-up upon completion
