About The Position

Wachter is seeking a Low Voltage Operations Manager in the Detroit MI area. This role is responsible for organizing and coordinating office operations and procedures to ensure effectiveness and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of combined experience (Field, Project Management, Sales) in the local Structured Cabling/Technology market, extensive local business contacts, and relationships. We are looking for self-motivated, reliable candidates who can work independently and find solutions to complete the job. Requirements

  • 3-5 years combined experience (Field, Project Management, Sales) in the local Structured Cabling/Technology market.
  • Extensive local business contacts and relationships.
  • Self-motivated and reliable.
  • Ability to work independently and find solutions.
  • College education / degree highly desirable (minimum HS Diploma or GED required).
  • Highly proficient with use of personal computer, including email, spreadsheets and database Microsoft Office programs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Strong General and Project Management skills and experience.
  • Excellent new business development skills.
  • Expert Knowledge of PM and QM processes.
  • Knowledge of the local chamber of commerce and business associations.
  • Well connected within the community.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and coordinate office operations and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain a database of potential local customers.
  • Build relationships with local manufacturers and distributors.
  • On-board new business and grow business year over year.
  • Lead, coach, and manage the Project Management team and technicians.
  • Manage warehouse inventory, tools, and fleet vehicles.
  • Assist in the hiring process of field and office resources.
  • Oversee employee training, coaching, and annual evaluations.
  • Oversee the process of time-sheets and expense report submittals and approvals.
  • Ensure adherence to all required project safety requirements as set forth by Wachter and OSHA.
  • Maintain Wachter's high standard of quality and professionalism.
  • Manage/approve vendor invoices through the internal workflow process.
  • Work closely with other offices/Pre-con/Solutions Design Team on project costing for bids, approvals for vendor agreements, etc.
  • Manage P&L responsibilities including monthly forecasting and explanation of financials, meeting profit quotas, and assisting in accounts receivable collection duties.
  • Assist with Project Management, Service Delivery, and Quality Control issues.
