About The Position

Integrated Protection Systems (IPS) is seeking a detail-driven and forward-thinking Low Voltage Design Drafter to join their growing team. Requirements

  • Two-year technical degree in drafting or design
  • Experience with AutoCAD LT and/or Revit LT
  • Knowledge of drafting standards and processes
  • Awareness of AI tools available for drafting and design
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Willingness to train on our product lines
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand electrical contracts, plans, drawings, and specifications
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Self-starter mindset

Nice To Haves

  • Experience developing construction documents, drawings, and specifications
  • Knowledge of low-voltage systems (Access Control & Camera Systems)

Responsibilities

  • Creating clear 2D drawings for cameras, access control, structured cabling, AV, and intrusion systems, including full Bills of Materials
  • Performing required calculations to ensure dimensions, tolerances, and specifications are accurate
  • Maintaining document control and revision tracking; supporting field RFIs and as-built updates
  • Creating and maintaining 3-part specifications for architectural documents
  • Initiating and managing the Change Order process
  • Assisting in the development and documentation of engineering, drafting, and release standards
  • Communicating design intent with clients and participating in design meetings
  • Developing internal product documentation (drawings, wiring diagrams, BOMs) for new and existing solutions
  • Independently managing both small and large-scale projects
  • Continuously improving drawing efficiency by using advanced CAD features and AI tools to reduce errors and speed development
