About The Position

Mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to patrons of bar, following standard recipes. This role involves preparing cocktails, serving beverages, handling payments, and maintaining the bar area. The bartender is also responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including those pertaining to alcohol service and public safety. Additionally, the position requires providing guests with information about hotel services and local attractions, and upholding the company's core values and service philosophy.

Requirements

  • High school completion or an equivalent level of education and experience.
  • Current Food Worker’s and Liquor Server’s Permit (if applicable).
  • Demonstrate excellent public contact skills.
  • Use arithmetic to total costs and make change.
  • Provide guests with information about hotel facilities, services, and local attractions.
  • Stand or walk for varying lengths of time, sometimes for long periods.
  • Move fingers and hands easily and quickly to handle things like dishes, money, and merchandise.
  • Lift and carry things like heavy trays.

Nice To Haves

  • Bartending experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Mix ingredients, such as liquor, soda, water, sugar, and bitters to prepare cocktails and other drinks.
  • Serve wine and other draught or bottled beer.
  • Collect money for drinks served.
  • Order and requisition liquors and supplies.
  • Place bottled goods and glasses to make an attractive display.
  • Slice and pit fruit for garnishing drinks.
  • Prepare appetizers, such as pickles, cheese, and cold meats.
  • Perform in compliance with established company policies and procedures.
  • Perform in compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with all state and local regulations pertaining to the public operation of the hotel’s bar area, including maximum safe occupancy, emergency exit accessibility, smoke-free area maintenance.
  • Recognize in-state and out-of-state drivers licenses and state-issued identification cards.
  • Be always in uniform when working on the property, including wearing a name identification badge.
  • Support and adhere to the core values, the mission statement, service fundamentals, and guest service philosophy as defined by the company.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by a manager or supervisor.
