About The Position

ADESA, a Carvana-owned company, operates over 50 auto auction locations across the US. These sites offer a variety of vehicle services, including repair, reconditioning, and auction remarketing, with many serving as market hub distribution centers. The company manages a vast inventory of vehicles across North America. ADESA fosters a collaborative "we" culture and operates in a fun, fast-paced, and competitive industry. The company is undergoing a multi-year expansion with significant investments in facilities, sales growth, and inventory. Reporting to the Operations Manager or a designated manager, the Lot Driver will operate motor vehicles on the premises to support auction activities. The primary responsibility is to manage vehicle movement across the lot by transporting and staging units in designated areas as directed by leadership.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age and have a valid driver’s license that meets the requirements
  • Able to safely drive a variety of vehicle makes, models, and sizes
  • Proficiency with computer systems and applications
  • Ability to comprehend alphanumeric order and motor vehicle traffic signs.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment in all weather conditions.
  • Proven ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • To be able to do your job at ADESA, you must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Constant - standing, watching, touching, listening, walking, talking
  • Frequent - bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting, grasping, pushing, pulling
  • Potential – running, jumping, yelling, or other rapid or forceful movement in emergencies
  • Visual acuity requirements include color, depth perception, and field of vision comparable to definitions for Clerical, Administrative, and Machine Operators (including inspection) positions.

Responsibilities

  • Operate motor vehicles safely, practicing conservative, cautious, and courteous driving habits.
  • Stage vehicles efficiently to ensure optimal lot flow and accurate positioning for operational and sale day needs.
  • Safely move, stage, and park various makes, models, sizes, and conditions of vehicles in designated lot areas throughout the shift.
  • Move vehicles from the finish line to designated parking spots using alphanumeric ordering.
  • Scan parked vehicles in the Internal Tracking system to maintain accurate inventory and record movement.
  • Jump-start vehicles using a battery box as required.
  • Maintain work areas to ensure a safe environment and promptly notify managers of all driving-related incidents or potential hazards.
  • Follow company procedures involving accidents, injuries, or property damage, and ensure compliance with all state or federal laws.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the designated manager.
