About The Position

ADESA, a Carvana-owned company, operates over 50 locations in the US, providing vehicle services like repair, reconditioning, and auction remarketing. Our auto auctions offer a wide array of vehicles. We foster a collaborative culture and operate in a fun, fast-paced, and competitive industry. ADESA is undergoing a multi-year expansion with significant investments in facilities, sales growth, and inventory. This role reports to the Lead Lot Operations or a designated manager. The Lot Assistant supports outside functions for lot movements and general operations before, during, and after sale days. Key responsibilities include driving service trucks, lot tow trucks (non-DOT), and forklifts to maintain accurate inventory flow and ensure vehicle readiness.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • Must be 18 years of age and have a valid driver’s license that meets the requirements
  • Tow Truck Driving experience preferred
  • Able to safely drive a variety of vehicle makes, models, and sizes, including tow trucks, forklifts, and the service truck
  • Automotive or auction experience preferred
  • Proficiency with computer systems and applications
  • Obtain and maintain forklift certification
  • Able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Responsibilities

  • Support lot operations by preparing and staging vehicles for sale, including stickering (run and customer stickers), marking vehicles on the spot, moving vehicles using a lot tow truck or forklift, and operating the service truck to support the driver team.
  • Scan the lot and use electronic devices to record the movement of vehicles on the property.
  • Assist with vehicle readiness tasks such as jumping vehicles and adding fluids (gas, water, etc), adding air to tires, and verifying vehicle status while maintaining accurate lot organization.
  • Handle the removal of personal property from vehicles.
  • Communicate with shop and operations teams to ensure an efficient flow of inventory from vehicle check-in to the auction sale line.
  • Provide customer service support and coordinate with administrative teams to ensure efficient execution of sale day activities.
  • Confirm vehicle mileage, make year, and VIN to ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Maintain work areas to ensure a safe environment and report any incidents or hazards to the designated manager.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the designated manager.
