About The Position

The Loss Prevention Specialist is responsible for protecting company assets by preventing and minimizing shrink due to theft, fraud, and operational errors. This role supports store operations through proactive monitoring, investigations, and enforcing compliance with company policies and safety standards, while maintaining a safe and secure environment for customers and employees.

Requirements

  • Previous loss prevention, security, or retail experience preferred
  • Strong observational and investigative skills
  • Knowledge of retail operations and shrink control practices
  • Strong communication and report-writing abilities
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism
  • Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • High level of integrity and professionalism

Responsibilities

  • Identify, investigate, and resolve incidents of theft, fraud, and policy violations
  • Monitor high-risk areas and activities to reduce internal and external shrink
  • Support shrink reduction initiatives and ensure proper execution of prevention strategies
  • Utilize CCTV systems and other tools to monitor store activity
  • Conduct floor surveillance and maintain a visible presence to deter theft
  • Review video footage and document incidents accurately
  • Conduct internal and external investigations in accordance with company guidelines
  • Collect evidence, prepare detailed reports, and partner with leadership as needed
  • Support law enforcement when necessary and follow proper legal procedures
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and safety standards
  • Audit store operations including cash handling, receiving, and inventory controls
  • Promote awareness of loss prevention practices across all departments
  • Educate store associates on theft prevention, safety practices, and policy compliance
  • Provide coaching to reduce operational errors that contribute to shrink
  • Partner with store leadership to address trends and areas of opportunity
  • Maintain a safe environment for customers and employees
  • Respond to emergencies, incidents, and alarms in a timely manner
  • Ensure proper documentation of all safety and security events
