About The Position

The Loss Prevention/Security Officer position is responsible for patrolling, monitoring security cameras, and maintaining a visible presence in the lobby to assist guests. The role involves preventing and detecting intrusions, ensuring the security of doors, windows, and gates, responding to alarms, and investigating disturbances. The officer will monitor and authorize the entrance and departure of individuals, guard against theft, and ensure the security of the premises. Responsibilities include conducting and logging random searches, updating security logs with activities and irregularities, and contacting emergency services when necessary. The position also involves warning individuals of rule infractions, evicting violators, ensuring professional interactions at the security window, conducting regular building and perimeter checks, and assisting the Manager on Duty. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Effectively interact and communicate with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Write routine reports and correspondence

  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • At least one (1) year of customer service experience
  • At least one (1) year of security or surveillance experience preferably in hospitality

Responsibilities

  • Patrol, watch security cameras and primarily be visible in the lobby to assist as needed with guests.
  • Prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows and gates
  • Answer alarms and investigate disturbances
  • Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of associates, visitors, deliveries and other persons to guard against theft and security of premises
  • Conduct and log random searches
  • Update Security Logs with activities and irregularities
  • Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons
  • Warn persons of rule infractions or violations or evict violators from premises
  • Ensure all interactions with associates and visitors at the Security window are of professional nature
  • Make regular security checks of building as well as perimeter checks
  • Assist Manager on Duty as directed
  • Other duties as assigned
