About The Position

As a Loss Prevention Coordinator, you will play a critical role in protecting Landstar's drivers, agents, customers, and the motoring public by responding to safety-related incidents and commercial motor vehicle accidents. You'll be a trusted resource during time-sensitive situations, making sound decisions while ensuring compliance with federal motor carrier safety regulations and company policies. This role is ideal for someone with strong administrative customer support experience who remains calm under pressure, communicates confidently, and enjoys solving complex problems. As you grow in the role, you'll gain valuable expertise in DOT and FMCSA regulations and transportation operations in a fast-paced environment where your work has a direct impact on safety and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • One year of customer support in an administrative setting
  • Proven independent decision-making skills
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Effective communication skills; must be able to retain and relay crucial safety information
  • Accuracy in reporting crucial, confidential details to management related to possible increased liability/exposure
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists
  • Capacity to maintain composure in emotionally charged situations and/or escalated conversation.
  • Ability to travel as required (up to 5% travel)
  • Availability for on call rotation
  • Must be available for all safety emergencies and capable of working autonomously in escalated safety situations

Nice To Haves

  • One year of DOT transportation/logistics experience
  • One year of fraud experience
  • Combination of both

Responsibilities

  • Receive inbound calls from drivers, agents, customers and the motoring public on safety related issues.
  • Respond immediately to accident hotline, handling outbound calls in response to safety related concerns
  • Complete data entry of accident requirements and record
  • Ensure compliance with federal regulations in aspects of DOT accident reporting, post-accident testing and reasonable suspicion testing
  • Decision making specific to crash ruling
  • Perform operator reviews and determine training needed and execute disciplinary action
  • Manage correspondence from the motoring public when complaints are safety related
  • Analyze driver safety records and communicate disposition
