About The Position

The Loss Prevention Associate maintains a professional, visible presence to deter internal and external theft while supporting a safe, pleasant shopping experience for customers and a positive work environment for associates. The role builds rapport with employees to foster a culture of honesty and integrity. This is a full-time position requiring regular nights and weekends. The associate follows the schedule provided by the District Loss Prevention Manager (DLPM), wears the company-issued Loss Prevention vest or jacket during scheduled shifts, and remains highly visible at the store entrance. The associate observes and reports theft incidents or suspicions to the manager on duty (MOD) and DLPM, but must not directly engage, confront, or follow suspected shoplifters outside the store. Additional duties include supporting security and safety standards, conducting bag checks, helping complete theft reports, participating in loss-prevention and safety programs, conducting store tours, and completing audits as directed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a positive, assertive, and highly visible presence as a theft deterrent at the store entrance during assigned shifts.
• Follow the schedule provided by the DLPM and comply with the company dress code, including wearing the issued Loss Prevention vest or jacket.
• Greet and acknowledge customers and associates as they enter and exit the store.
• Build rapport with employees and foster a positive culture of honesty and integrity.
• Observe and report theft incidents or suspected theft to the MOD and District LP Manager; do not directly engage, confront, or follow a suspected customer outside the store.
• Support the store in maintaining company security and safety standards.
• Direct the store in completing Store Theft Reports when required.
• Participate in the store’s loss-prevention and safety programs.
• Conduct store tours and complete audits as directed by the DLPM.
• Demonstrate professionalism and keep the front entrance clean and safe for shoppers.
• Conduct bag checks according to company guidelines.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by Loss Prevention Management.
