Long Term Substitute - Grade 6-8 Science
About The Position
The Long Term Substitute provides classroom instruction to students and facilitates learning in the absence of the regular teacher. The position is for Grade 6–8 Science at Lodge K8, with a listed availability date of January 5, 2027. Salary is commensurate with the recommended candidate’s education and experience: $256.83 per day for an entry-level licensed teacher or $175 per day for a substitute holding a valid Indiana Substitute Permit. The position is eligible for employee medical coverage. Candidates must have at least 30 college credit hours. Requirements
- Minimum of 30 college credit hours.
- Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Ability to interact with students, staff, and the community, as assessed through the interview process, past experience, and references.
Responsibilities
- Provide classroom instruction to students as outlined in lesson plans.
- Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to students’ maturity and interests.
- Maintain a safe and orderly environment.
- Follow established school and classroom routines and procedures.
- Maintain a professional appearance as an example to students.
- Remain at school for the entire school day unless instructed otherwise by the building principal.
