About The Position

Visual Arts at Renaissance includes stand-alone courses offered at the instructor’s discretion and based on student interest, as well as working collaboratively with colleagues to teach integrated arts as part of the school’s core instructional curriculum. Teachers at Renaissance Secondary facilitate rich learning experiences for students in service of the school’s mission: Through authentic, integrated learning experiences, Renaissance will empower students to become modern learners who are critical thinkers and problem solvers, communicators, collaborators, and creative innovators who contribute to the world around them.

Teaching License - Colorado Department of Education
Bachelor's Degree

Experience with expeditionary learning, project-based learning, and/or design thinking.
Experience teaching art in a school setting.

Responsibilities

Plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.
Utilize teaching methods and educational tools in an ever changing and strategic environment. You would plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences and establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development, preparing required reports on students and activities.
Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures, maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school, and apply appropriate disciplinary measures where necessary.
As integral parts of their school and the school community, teachers perform certain duties including but not limited to student support, counseling students with academic problems and supporting certain extracurricular activities such as social activities, sporting activities, clubs and student organizations, participating in department and school meetings, and parent meetings.
Utilize best practices in instructional strategies to facilitate student growth through teaching and assessment of curriculum.
Facilitate learning opportunities that measure and integrate creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, communication, problem solving, global awareness, and other 21st century skills aligned to state and district standards.
Differentiate instruction and learning experiences to meet the needs of all students.
