About The Position

Manteno Elementary School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Long-Term Substitute Preschool Teacher beginning as soon as possible for approximately 8 weeks. The ideal candidate will create a supportive and engaging classroom environment that fosters academic growth, social-emotional development, and a love of learning. This role involves planning and delivering instruction aligned with curriculum standards, assessing student progress, and collaborating with colleagues, families, and staff to support student success.

Requirements

• Valid Illinois Substitute Teaching License or Professional Educator’s License
• Early Childhood Education endorsement preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge of child development and instructional best practices
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
• Proficiency with educational technology and digital learning tools
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based lessons across core subject areas
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners
• Assess student progress regularly and adjust instruction accordingly
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance
• Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and needs
• Collaborate with grade-level teams, specialists, and support staff
• Coordinate with special education staff and co-teachers, as needed, to support diverse learners
• Implement classroom management strategies that promote respect and responsibility
• Participate in professional development opportunities and school activities
• Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with district policies and procedures
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality of student, family, and staff information
• Work collaboratively with co-workers and school staff
• Support students’ social, emotional, and behavioral growth
• Uphold school policies, procedures, and educational standards
• Perform other duties as assigned by Administration

Benefits

• Daily Rate of $140.57
• After the 20th consecutive day, the salary changes to the per diem of a first year teacher with a Bachelor’s Degree with no additional credit hours (~$237.00/day)
