About The Position

This is a long-term substitute math teacher position covering the period from October to January. The role involves instructing and supervising students, teaching district-approved curriculum, and implementing Michigan State Standards through effective instructional practices. The teacher will be responsible for creating a positive and engaging classroom environment conducive to learning, utilizing research-based strategies, and understanding various assessment methods to drive instruction. Collaboration with stakeholders and participation in school activities are also key aspects of the role.

Requirements

  • Math Endorsement (EX) for appropriate grade levels preferred

Responsibilities

  • Instruction and supervision of all students
  • Teach district-approved curriculum
  • Provide a clear purpose for instruction through high student engagement, a knowledge of the curriculum and pedagogy, and use research-based strategies
  • Understand all forms of assessment and how to use these assessments to drive instruction
  • Provide a positive classroom environment and culture that is conducive for all students to learn
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with all stakeholders involved
  • Implement Michigan State Standards through effective instructional practices
  • Work as a team member to help our students build success stories
  • Help monitor hallways and school grounds
  • Be involved in after-school and extra-curricular activities
  • Keep accurate classroom records and communicate effectively
  • Attend conferences and workshops to keep current on professional development
  • Work as a collaborative team member looking to grow as an educator and teacher
