About The Position

AVON PUBLIC SCHOOLS is seeking a Long-Term Substitute Kindergarten Teacher for an external applicant position. This role requires a candidate who can prepare instructional resources, develop lesson plans, and provide differentiated instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students. The substitute teacher will also provide support to students requiring additional academic assistance and fulfill other duties as assigned by the Building Principal or designee. Requirements

• Must possess or be eligible for Connecticut State Department of Education certification that covers elementary grades.
• Degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in elementary education.
• Cover letter specific to the position.

• Copies of any certifications.
• Copies of any college/university transcripts.
• Three letters of reference dated within the last year.

Responsibilities

• Prepare instructional resources and assessments that support the delivery of the Avon Public School's curriculum, particularly the elementary disciplines.
• Develop and implement lesson plans, unit plans, and educational projects to ensure students’ academic development.
• Provide differentiated instructional strategies and assessment and/or modify the curriculum to meet the learning needs of students with structured learning plans (IEPs and 504s).
• Provide support to all learners who require additional help or guidance with academic problems and concepts.
• Other responsibilities as defined by the building principal or designee.
