About The Position

Arlington High School is seeking a long-term substitute history teacher to cover 5 sections of high school history, including 4 sections of US History 1 and 1 section of Modern World History, from late November 2026 to April 2027. The role involves collaboration with the history department, special educators, administrators, and other staff, as well as effective communication with parents and guardians. The ideal candidate will demonstrate an ability to integrate critical reading, writing, and historical thinking skills into the curriculum, with a focus on social justice and diverse perspectives. Experience in differentiating instruction for various learning needs and knowledge of social-emotional learning strategies are also valued.
