About The Position

Granada Hills Charter seeks a long-term substitute English teacher to cover for a teacher who is on leave. The role involves teaching Advanced Placement (AP) English Language and Composition. The ideal candidate can maintain instructional continuity, monitor student progress, deliver rigorous standards-aligned instruction, provide timely and actionable feedback on student writing, and support students with diverse learning needs. A particular focus is preparing students for the AP English Language and Composition examination, including instruction in rhetorical analysis, argumentation, synthesis writing, and critical reading of nonfiction texts. Daily work hours are 8:20 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Employees must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination before starting, unless they have a legally recognized reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

• California Single Subject English Teaching Credential.

Nice To Haves

• Demonstrated experience teaching AP English Language and Composition.
