About The Position

Paragon Science Academy, an A-rated, STEM-focused charter school in Chandler, AZ, is seeking a dedicated and engaging Long-Term Substitute Teacher for a 6-12 Math leave. This full-time assignment, beginning late August 2026 for up to 12 weeks, will cover courses including Geometry, PreCalculus, and AP Calculus AB (Dual Enrollment). The role involves delivering daily math instruction, facilitating courses, creating a positive classroom environment, managing student progress, and collaborating with staff and families.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required.
Comfortable facilitating Geometry, PreCalculus, and AP Calculus AB at the secondary level.
Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
Arizona Department of Public Safety Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card required.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree in Mathematics or a strong math background is preferred.
Secondary mathematics teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Delivering daily math instruction for grades 6-12 following established curriculum, lesson plans, and instructional expectations.
Facilitating Geometry, PreCalculus, and AP Calculus AB Dual Enrollment courses with confidence and subject matter depth.
Creating an engaging, organized, and supportive classroom environment.
Implementing classroom management strategies that promote student achievement.
Monitoring student progress, providing feedback, and supporting individual learning needs.
Maintaining accurate attendance, grades, and classroom records.
Communicating effectively with students, families, and school staff.
Collaborating with teachers and administrators to ensure a smooth transition and consistent student support.
Promoting a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
