About The Position

SANY’s Utica Academy of Science Charter School is excited to announce the opening of a Behavior Specialist role for Junior-Senior High School (Grades 6-12). We have a great environment for new staff, and we encourage you to apply! We need a professional who will consistently implement our code of conduct, train and educate all stakeholders about the implementation of the student code of conduct, be visible and accessible to the students and staff, analyze data to identify trends in behavior, make necessary adjustments, and implement an action plan. The role also involves identifying students with behavior issues and establishing corrective plans for individuals or groups, developing positive relationships with students and parents to foster a respectful and professional school environment, and working collaboratively with school counselors and teachers to develop and help implement the RTI process for individuals or groups. The Behavior Specialist will also support and work collaboratively with administrators, teachers, and parents while demonstrating a professional manner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • Fingerprint clearance through NYS Department of Education

Responsibilities

  • Consistently implement our code of conduct.
  • Train and educate all stakeholders about the implementation of the student code of conduct.
  • Be visible and accessible to the students and staff.
