About The Position

The cushion under your carpet is vital to your home's comfort – that's why Leggett & Platt's carpet cushions provide luxurious comfort and support, along with enhanced carpet appearance and longevity. Carpet pad doesn't get the marketplace attention it deserves. Few people talk about it. There just hasn't been enough education on how quality carpet pad is the source behind the comfort and added durability in your carpeting. A driver is responsible for delivering finished goods to the customer in a safe and timely manner.

Requirements

Detailed oriented with the ability to make decisions.
Must have a class A CDL.

Responsibilities

Upon delivery, ensure the accuracy of products delivered.
Assist customer in the off load of the product.
Exceed customer expectations.
Maintain excellent customer service and customer relations.
Responsible for all money/C.O.D.’s involved in business transactions, as required.
Maintain “Logbook”, maximize “backhauls”, and fuel-up at specified terminals.
Adhere to safety, EEOC and OSHA policies.
Ensure loads are secure.
Maintain cleanliness of tractor and trailer.
Comply with Leggett & Platt and State and Federal DOT regulations.
Perform other duties as directed by the Traffic Manager.
Contacts Traffic Manager or Dispatcher on a daily basis.
Prepares daily reports on the quality/quantity of incoming and outgoing materials.
Maintain effective inter-department communication.
Adhere to the Leggett & Platt safety, environmental and conduct Policies.
Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities related to product, process and/or the system.
Identify and/or record any problems relating to the product, process and the quality system:
Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.
Verify the implementation of solutions.
Control further processing, delivery or installation of nonconforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping of all tractors and trailers.
Management may assign other duties not covered in this description. All employees are expected to carry out any reasonable assignment.
