The LOIS Teacher is responsible for educating all students substantially and effectively by demonstrating professional leadership, assessing and communicating learning results, demonstrating knowledge of content, reflecting on teaching and learning, designing and planning instruction, collaborating with colleagues, parents, and others, creating and maintaining a learning climate, engaging in professional development, implementing and managing instruction, and demonstrating the implementation of technology. The teacher must implement all rules, regulations, policies, and administrative guidelines set by the Board of Education and the School SBDM Council. They are responsible for maintaining accurate and complete records, guiding the learning process towards curriculum goals, establishing clear objectives and assessments for lessons, and meeting and instructing assigned classes. The teacher will plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students, and create a classroom environment conducive to learning. Preparation for classes is required, and precautions must be taken to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. The teacher will be available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when requested, and strive to improve professional competence and collaboration. Attendance at staff meetings, service on staff committees, and performance of duties prescribed by the principal and Board of Education are expected. The teacher will promote positive public relations for the school’s programs and activities, contact the principal immediately in case of absence, and remain at school during the entire school day unless excused. A professional appearance and regular attendance are required, along with the incorporation of technology in daily tasks.
