About The Position

This position is responsible for compiling and recording production data, calculating production factors, writing production reports, and maintaining related files. The role involves preparing detailed production sheets, work schedules, and material inventory records. Additionally, the clerk will chart production data, distribute work tickets, and may assist with payroll preparation. A significant part of the role includes processing and verifying Naval Aircraft Flight Record (NAVFLIR) input, reviewing flight operation reports, assisting with aircraft discrepancy book reviews, and preparing, recording, verifying, and updating various aircraft and engine records and documentation. The position also requires monitoring technical directives, initiating and verifying aircraft logbooks and service record forms, and ensuring the accuracy of aircraft inventories, serial numbers, and configurations. Compliance with COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 series and a working knowledge of technical publications, NAMP, and NALCOMIS are essential.

Requirements

  • High School degree or equivalent required.
  • Completed Navy AZ class "C" school or USMC/USCG equivalent.
  • Two (2) or more years of recent aircraft records experience.
  • Knowledge of maintenance and material control procedures.
  • Knowledge of aircraft log books, logs and records, and production daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
  • Must be able to analyze maintenance and material data.
  • Ability to interact effectively with personnel at all organizational levels.
  • Understand technical language terms in associated field.
  • Possess a valid US State driver's license.
  • Ability to read and interpret data is required.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Ability to obtain a secret security clearance.
  • Working knowledge of technical publications, NAMP and NALCOMIS aircraft maintenance applications.

  • Prior maintenance and material control operations experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Compile and record production data from various documents.
  • Calculate production factors such as quantities produced, materials used, scrap, defects, and production rates.
  • Write production reports based on compiled data.
  • Maintain files of documents.
  • Compile production sheets or work tickets for assembly or manufacture.
  • Prepare written work schedules.
  • Compile material inventory records and prepare procurement requisitions.
  • Chart production data for reference.
  • Sort and distribute work tickets or material to workers.
  • Compute wages from employee time cards and post wage data (may perform this duty).
  • Process Naval Aircraft Flight Record (NAVFLIR) input and validation.
  • Verify flight operation reports.
  • Assist maintenance control supervisor with aircraft discrepancy book reviews.
  • Prepare, record, verify, and update aircraft records and reports.
  • Prepare and update engine documentation.
  • Monitor, order, verify, and update technical directives (TDs).
  • Initiate, update, and verify aircraft logbooks and aeronautical equipment service record (AESR) forms and records.
  • Ensure the provision of accurate aircraft inventories, equipment serial numbers and configurations.
  • Prepare and verify aircraft inventory records.
  • Comply with all current sections of COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 series applicable to aircraft maintenance.
  • Perform other job-related duties as may be assigned.
