About The Position

This internship offers hands-on experience in Logistics & Transportation at United Launch Alliance (ULA). Interns will gain valuable insights into the business side of the aerospace industry by assisting senior professionals, shadowing operations, and undertaking unique assignments that contribute to larger projects. The role involves collaborating with various teams, utilizing tracking tools, and supporting the logistics of critical equipment and material movements. Additionally, interns will have opportunities to build their professional network within ULA and with fellow interns.

Requirements

  • At minimum completed Sophomore year of college or university by the time of the summer internship assignment.
  • High School/GED.
  • Minimum college GPA of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale at the time of application; cumulative, no rounding.
  • Valid driver’s license and motorized vehicle transportation if assigned an internship in Alabama.
  • At minimum, actively pursuing a degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or relevant field from an accredited college or university.
  • Plans to be enrolled in classes during Fall Semester 2027.
  • Ability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks during the summer of 2027.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint).
  • Effective presentation, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to complete an internship at any of the below ULA's locations: Decatur, AL.
  • Must be a U.S. Person as defined in ITAR 22 CFR 120.62 (e.g., U.S. Citizen, Lawful Permanent Resident (Green Card holder) or protected individual).

Responsibilities

  • Assist Senior Level Logistic and Transportation professionals.
  • Interpret Master Program Schedule and collaborate daily with Prod Ops for preparation of critical moves.
  • Utilize tracking tool to identify, locate, and schedule Ground Support Equipment movements across the enterprise.
  • Communicate and collaborate with the transportation scheduler to ensure internal and external moves are enacted.
  • Support the logistics of Solid Rocket Boosters movement into and out of storage.
  • Support teams that perform internal moves, lifts to GSE, execute external/supplier or site to site moves, and maintain contracts for trucking, lifts, and other moves.
  • Support one or more experienced business professionals in performance of assignments.
  • Spend time shadowing actual operations.
  • Undertake unique assignments that support larger projects.
  • Experience the day-to-day workings of the business side of the aerospace industry.
  • Participate in additional activities/events to build a strong network within the ULA community and with fellow interns.
