About The Position

This is a part-time, on-call position for a Logistics Technician - Receiving at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, IL. The role involves maintaining inventory, receiving shipments, and ensuring accurate distribution of supplies. The position is registry/PRN status, meaning you will be scheduled on-call as needed to fill departmental gaps. Shifts include 6 AM - 2:30 PM, 2 PM - 10:30 PM, and potentially 10 PM - 6:30 AM. The pay range is $19.80 - $29.70.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 12 months experience in stocking and/or receiving.
  • Experience with mainframe or PC computer systems.
  • Good communication & customer relation skills.
  • Good organization and math skills.
  • Must be computer literate.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain assigned 2-Bin inventory locations, ensuring proper placement, organization, and adherence to standards.
  • Pick and pull inventory accurately for replenishment.
  • Deliver 2-Bin replenishment orders to designated locations.
  • Restock 2-Bins, perform inventory cycle counts, and check for expired products.
  • Perform supplement restocks as requested.
  • Pick up empty bins and product returns, returning them to General Stores.
  • Perform monthly 2-Bin inventory counts.
  • Use DemandTrack for inventory velocity and usage assessment, making PAR adjustment recommendations.
  • Use automation for General Stores cycle counts.
  • Use receiving and distribution chain of custody automation to document shipments and issues.
  • Utilize automation for picking, issuing, delivering, crediting, and administering General Stores product, including crash carts and inventory carts.
  • Gather and remove product delivery skids and debris within the General Stores.
  • Rotate inventory using a first expired, first out (FEFO) approach.
  • Register expired product according to the Non-Compliant Policy.
  • Manage assigned inventory locations, including inventory management, valuation, cycle counts, and days on hand.
  • Maintain a high level of housekeeping in all General Stores areas and personal workspaces.
  • Break down cardboard and dunnage, and properly dispose of it.
  • Identify and dispose of items not in assigned locations or serving a defined purpose, with approval.
  • Maintain a clean appearance on all surfaces, equipment, and workspaces.
  • Perform regular cycle counts with a target error rate of 5% or less.
  • Evaluate root cause analysis for errors and implement corrective actions.
  • Carry assigned pager/portable telephone for expeditious response.
  • Maintain a monthly trend chart of total inventory valuation for assigned locations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and inventory reductions.
  • Perform receiving functions for all incoming orders, reviewing for accuracy and identifying quality issues.
  • Interface with customer service representatives of third-party shipping entities.
  • Perform all receiving functions using scanning technology.
  • Deliver all inbound product received, including analysis and problem-solving for unidentified product.
  • Clean and disinfect patient care equipment according to Infection Control policies.
  • Manage inventory and accurately pick requisitioned items.
  • Maintain an average of no more than five (5) days on hand for any inventory SKU.
  • Pick and deliver requisitioned orders or other products.
  • Utilize bar code scanning technology for electronic signatures and delivery confirmation.
  • Coordinate reviewing and obtaining non-compliant product from green bins.
  • Enter product from green bins into the standardized on-line database.
  • Return General Stores equipment to General Stores after use.
  • Coordinate product returns from assigned requisitioning locations back to General Stores.
  • Pick a minimum of 100 lines per hour (fully inclusive of pick, travel, and replenishment time), with a minimum of 60 lines per hour.
  • Pick all orders requested by unit department by time basis unless directed otherwise.
  • Ensure accuracy of inventory picks.
  • Be responsible for cycle count errors generated within the inventory area of responsibility.
  • Develop a corrective action plan to mitigate cycle count errors.
  • Chart a trend chart of the cycle count error rate by quarter.
  • Be responsible for the inventory pick associated with all 2-Bin inventory locations assigned.
  • Use designated picking automation and associated processes.
  • Tag all product with appropriate stickers.
  • Release all picked orders using Lawson WH32.2 and sign paperwork.
  • Utilize and follow processes for assigned velocity picking format.
  • Analyze non-conforming product incident rate by SKU.
  • Make process improvement recommendations to mitigate recurrence of non-conforming supplies.
  • Maintain non-conforming green bins, placards, and job aids.
  • Rotate stock in inventory location bins or kardex using FEFO.
  • Remove non-conforming product and transport to General Stores.
  • Pick up non-conforming product from green bins at least weekly.
  • Transport non-conforming product to General Stores and enter into the non-conforming product log.
  • Communicate non-conforming clinical supply trend and analytical information to appropriate clinical leadership.
