About The Position

This full-time position in the Supply Chain Operations department at Illinois Masonic Medical Center is responsible for various logistics and inventory management tasks. The role involves maintaining inventory accuracy, managing stock levels, ensuring timely delivery of supplies, and utilizing automation systems for tracking and management. The technician will play a key role in ensuring the efficient flow of supplies within the hospital, from receiving to point-of-care locations.

Requirements

  • High School diploma
  • 12 months experience in stocking and/or receiving
  • Experience with mainframe or PC computer systems
  • Good communication & customer relation skills

Responsibilities

  • Maintain assigned 2-Bin inventory locations, ensuring organization, adherence to standards, and correct stock placement.
  • Pick and pull inventory for replenishment with 100% accuracy.
  • Deliver 2-Bin replenishment orders to appropriate locations.
  • Restock 2-Bins, perform inventory cycle counts, and check for expired products.
  • Perform supplement restocks as requested.
  • Pick up empty bins and product returns, returning them to General Stores with appropriate paperwork.
  • Perform monthly 2-Bin inventory counts as assigned.
  • Use DemandTrack to assess and track inventory velocity and usage, making PAR adjustment recommendations.
  • Use automation for General Stores cycle counts.
  • Use receiving and distribution chain of custody automation to document the chain of custody for all shipments and General Stores issues.
  • Use automation to pick, issue, deliver, credit, and administer all General Stores product, including crash carts and other inventory locations.
  • Gather and remove product delivery skids and debris within the General Stores environment.
  • Rotate inventory in assigned areas using a first expired, first out (FEFO) approach and register expired product.
  • Manage assigned inventory locations, including inventory management, valuation, cycle counts, and days on hand.
  • Maintain a superior level of housekeeping in all General Stores areas, including personal and group work spaces.
  • Perform regular cycle counts and maintain a cycle count error rate of five percent (5%) or less.
  • Carry assigned pager/portable telephone for expeditious response and protect from loss or damage.
  • Maintain a monthly trend chart of total inventory valuation for assigned inventory locations.
  • Perform receiving functions for all incoming orders, reviewing for accuracy and correlation to PO and ship-to location.
  • Identify incoming quality issues and errors, interfacing with customer service representatives.
  • Perform all receiving functions via scanning technology.
  • Maintain a clean work environment on a daily basis, performing housekeeping functions.
  • Deliver all inbound product received, including analysis and problem-solving for improperly identified product.
  • Clean and disinfect patient care equipment according to Infection Control policies.
  • Manage inventory and pick process for all requisitioned inventory items, maintaining an average of no more than five (5) days on hand.
  • Pick and deliver all requisitioned orders or other product to the requester, utilizing bar code scanning technology.
  • Coordinate reviewing and obtaining all non-compliant product from green bins.
  • Return all General Stores equipment used for Distribution to General Stores.
  • Coordinate product returns from assigned requisitioning locations back to the General Stores.
  • Pick a minimum of 100 lines per hour, with a minimum of 60 lines per hour.
  • Ensure accuracy of inventory picks and manage cycle count error rates within assigned inventory areas.
  • Manage inventory picks for all 2-Bin inventory locations, returning empty bins to General Stores.
  • Use designated picking automation and associated process for all inventory picking/replenishment.
  • Release all picked orders using Lawson WH32.2 and sign paperwork.
  • Utilize and follow the process and procedures with the assigned velocity picking format.
  • Analyze the non-conforming product incident rate by SKU and make process improvement recommendations.
  • Maintain non-conforming green bins, placards, and laminated job aids in all inventory locations.
  • Rotate stock in inventory location bins or kardex using FEFO approach, removing non-conforming product.
  • Pick up all non-conforming product from green bins at least weekly and transport to General Stores.
  • Communicate non-conforming clinical supply trend and analytical information to appropriate clinical leadership.
