About The Position

The Logistics Technician is responsible for various warehousing and logistics tasks, including verifying received items, maintaining a safe working environment, operating material handling equipment, and managing inventory. This role ensures the accuracy and quality of shipments and maintains records within the warehouse management system.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent work experience.
  • Basic math, written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work with others as a team member and communicate clearly with team members.
  • Maintain satisfactory attendance record.
  • Ability to understand and work with metric measures and volumes.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50lbs. Occasional lift and/or move up to 100lbs.
  • Ability to work in high humidity and high temperature environments.
  • Must be able to work any shift required, including overtime within the provisions of the union contract.
  • Computer skills required to enter and retrieve information using a warehouse management system.
  • Must be trained and obtain industrial powered truck license before performing duties requiring operation of this equipment.

  • Previous machine operating related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Verifies items received by inspecting condition, comparing count/measure to purchase order and packing list, and noting discrepancies.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Operates required material handling devices and handles materials properly.
  • Safely loads and unloads trailers for receiving and executes related paperwork.
  • Receives carrier packages and distributes them to appropriate personnel.
  • Ensures products or materials shipped meet required quality standards.
  • Performs all shipping related activities, ensuring accuracy of shipment to customers.
  • Prepares shipments, including picking, assembling, protecting, and labeling properly.
  • Ensures inventory accuracy for products stored in the warehouse.
  • Completes cycle counts timely.
  • Operates material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hoists to move, store, stage, and/or load raw materials and products.
  • Accurately records all shipping and receiving information into the warehouse management system.
  • Performs related tasks as requested by supervisor.
