About The Position

Copperweld is seeking a Logistics Technician to join our team on the 2nd shift. This role is responsible for various aspects of warehouse and logistics operations, including packaging, loading, unloading, and documentation. The technician will operate forklifts and tow motors, utilize basic computer systems for tracking and data entry, and ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety policies and quality standards. This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain company certification for operating forklifts and tow motors, basic computer skills, and the physical capacity to handle materials and perform tasks in a manufacturing and warehouse environment. The role also involves a commitment to workplace safety and quality, with the potential for overtime or varying shifts.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain company forklift/tow motor certification.
  • Basic computer skills, including data entry and inventory management software.
  • Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to push, pull, climb stairs, stoop, bend, and stand or walk for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing and warehouse environment, including exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and moving equipment.
  • Ability to work overtime or varying shifts as needed to meet business demands.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Package, transport, load, and secure materials for outbound shipment.
  • Unload and deliver incoming materials accurately and safely.
  • Prepare and maintain all shipping and receiving documentation.
  • Perform special wire cuts as needed based on job specifications.
  • Operate forklifts and tow motors safely in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Use basic computer systems for inventory tracking, data entry, and shipping/receiving documentation.
  • Perform all work in compliance with company safety policies, quality standards, and applicable procedures.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all established safety protocols.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisors or management.
