About The Position

The Logistics Technician plays a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient receiving of raw products via truck. This position also involves operating mobile boilers and having a basic understanding of pumps, valves, and tanks within the logistics area. Responsibilities include recording weights, commodities, and load ID information, as well as safely receiving, sampling, and unloading inbound trucks. Additional duties include the safe operation of mobile boilers, which are used to heat cold raw products inside inbound railcars. This position requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual with a strong focus on safety and teamwork, who is committed to contributing to the ongoing success of our renewable fuel production.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to effectively communicate in meetings with all levels of plant personnel.
  • Strong attention to detail and aptitude for sustained focus required.
  • Ability to lead by example and support others in their professional development, especially in high-performance or safety-critical environments.
  • Ability to read and write clear, accurate and concise reports using standard Microsoft Office programs.
  • Successfully pass a background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in logistical planning,
  • Certifications in process operations, equipment maintenance, or safety-related fields (e.g., OSHA, Hazardous Materials Handling) are highly desirable.
  • Basic mechanical skills and understanding of plant equipment to perform routine checks, troubleshoot issues, and assist with minor repairs and preventative maintenance preferred

Responsibilities

  • Support and enforce health, safety, and environmental (HS&E) policies and procedures, addressing any concerns promptly and adhering to safety procedures for equipment, product, and chemical handling.
  • Operate and monitor unloading pumps and air operated valves to ensure the correct transport of the raw materials.
  • Troubleshoot operating issues and work with the team to implement solutions, reporting any problems or performance changes to management.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain consistency, safety, and quality standards, aligning with corporate and plant goals.
  • Ensure all equipment is functioning correctly by performing routine checks and coordinating minor repairs and preventative maintenance with the maintenance team.
  • Maintain accurate records and logs of activities, operating conditions, and any changes in process/equipment performance.
  • Recognize the need for and submit work orders; follow up with the maintenance team to ensure equipment is being addressed promptly.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to achieving overall plant efficiency and sustainability goals.
  • Actively participate in shift change meetings, providing information on activities, concerns, and any outstanding issues to ensure the oncoming shift is fully informed and prepared.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and ethical conduct in all interactions, promoting a respectful and innovative work environment.
  • Ensure that work areas are kept clean and free of clutter to maintain safety, efficiency, and well-organized workspaces throughout all areas.
