About The Position

The Logistics Technician I supports the Lab Services Division by providing customer service and package receipt, processing, and on-site delivery for multiple tenants through a centralized Shipping & Receiving area. The role requires a professional attitude, comfort using technology and systems, reliable time management, and a customer-focused mindset. Familiarity with formal Shipping & Receiving routines is beneficial but not required. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week, non-exempt hourly position paying $24.00 per hour. The technician works under the supervision of the Shipping & Receiving Supervisor for equipment maintenance and reports to the Shipping & Receiving Manager. The position has no direct reports. The role may require travel between client locations.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Customer service skills and experience.
Proficiency with the Microsoft ecosystem, including Windows, Office, and Office 365.
Ability to safely lift heavy packages and carry them short distances.
Ability to move and lift boxes weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
Authorized to work in the United States.
Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills, along with a professional work ethic and team-centric mindset.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with a laboratory environment and/or Shipping & Receiving environment.
Current forklift certification; training can be provided.

Responsibilities

Receive packages, enter them into the Shipping & Receiving tracking database, and deliver them to site tenants professionally.
Process pre-packaged outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy, completeness, promptness, accountability, and shipment condition meet established standards.
Use company routines and materials management technologies to help ensure goods security.
Act as an on-site point of contact for end users regarding Shipping & Receiving support.
Escort delivery personnel and special equipment when necessary.
Safely use pallet jacks, delivery carts, forklifts, and other Shipping & Receiving equipment.
Follow site-specific SOPs, work procedures, and Shipping & Receiving programs.
Maintain Shipping & Receiving equipment under the supervision of the Shipping & Receiving Supervisor.
Travel between client locations as necessary.
Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
Perform additional support-level and in-scope Shipping & Receiving tasks as necessary.
