About The Position

The Logistics Team Specialist will perform routine maintenance of the Mobile Treatment Facility (MTF), including the tractor, tractor trailer, and generator. This role assists in the setup and breakdown of the MTF and related logistics functions, and performs preventative maintenance (electrical, plumbing, general construction, and carpentry) for the MTF. The specialist will oversee the deployment of the vehicle in emergency situations, keep records of MTF resources, and perform general housekeeping duties for the MTF. They will also facilitate and communicate repairs requiring specialized skills through outside vendors. Additionally, the role involves inspecting, maintaining, and operating vehicles for the transport of organs, organ recovery teams, and related equipment, as well as for the transport of decedents, tissue recovery teams, and tissue recovery equipment. The specialist ensures interior vehicle surfaces and the environment are cleaned and disinfected between each trip and works under the direction of Mobile Medicine Fleet & Logistics leadership to fulfill routine, unscheduled, and emergent vehicle, supply, maintenance, and preparedness tasks.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required.
Requires American Heart Association BCLS.
Requires Advocate Health Risk Management Approved Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) annually.
Requires a valid Driver License in the state of which the teammate works; CDL Class B preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Duties require good physical stamina, endurance, and body mechanics which would not be adversely affected by having to lift, carry, and balance at times more than 125 pounds (250 pounds with assistance).
Work in extreme environmental conditions with limited resources/support as well as emotional circumstances can be expected.
Good motor coordination is required.
Normal eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity is necessary to perform duties.
Must also have good oral communication skills.
Ability to independently lift and balance equipment weighing 56.7 kilograms (125 pounds).
The ability to work effectively driving in extreme environmental conditions including, but not limited to icing conditions, snow, fog, torrential rainfall, limited visibility, and tropical storms.

Nice To Haves

CDL-Class A license preferred within one year of hire.
Minimum of 2 years' vehicle maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Possesses general skill set regarding trailer and rig mechanics, plumbing, carpentry, electrical and preventative maintenance.
Facilitates and communicates repairs that requires specialized skills through outside vendors.
Inspects, maintains, and operates sport utility vehicles or other designated ground vehicles for transport of organs, organ recovery teams / transplant teams, and recovery related equipment during pre-procurement through the post-organ procurement phases of donor recovery.
Inspects, maintains, and operates vans, sport utility vehicles or other designated ground vehicles for transport of decedents, tissue recovery teams, and tissue recovery related equipment during pre-procurement through the post-procurement phases of tissue donor recovery.
Ensures interior vehicle surfaces and environment are cleaned and disinfected between each trip.
Works day-to-day under the direction of Mobile Medicine Fleet & Logistics leadership to fulfill Mobile Medicine-specific routine, unscheduled and emergent vehicle, supply, maintenance & preparedness tasks.
