About The Position

This position will be responsible for overseeing Logistics operations and have knowledge and ability in all functional areas of the DC. Will lead a cross functional DC team that can perform in many DC functional areas. Potential functions of this position include: Pick/Pack and labeling process in support of the Logistics department to meet shipping deadlines, picking accuracy and customer compliance requirements. Receiving and unloading products upon arrival, stocking, and warehouse moves while maintaining accurate inventory through system management. The position requires excellent communication skills, self-motivation, and experience with order fulfillment and customer compliance requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum – High School Diploma.
  • Microsoft Office: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
  • WMS/WCS experience (D365 a plus)
  • Ability to lead and manage a workflow.
  • Excellent interpersonal (written and verbal) communication skills
  • Attention to detail.
  • Type accurately.
  • Prioritize tasks and be able to switch tasks as needed.
  • Ability to follow and teach processes.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is required.
  • Some work is required in "off-hours" for work demands.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time in front of a computer.
  • Ability to move about facility on regular basis to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing or walking.
  • Visual and acuity.
  • Safety shoes required.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve personal, team and company goals.
  • Lead team of order pickers and other personnel to proficiently complete the pick and pack process.
  • Train, coach and provide direction and guidance. Including systems training and process training.
  • Improve picking efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with business and customer requirements.
  • Schedule work, give clear direction, and delegate duties.
  • Manage the receiving of inbound inventory, customer returns, facility supplies, and associated workflows with coordinating the material movement to the respective departments that will process or utilize the inbound materials or supplies.
  • Ensure deliveries and receipt of goods and supplies are processed in a timely manner.
  • Communicate shortages, damage and discrepancies to department staff that may be affected by such issues.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy by physical movement and also electronic movement utilizing company software systems.
  • Perform cycle counts duties, including investigating discrepancies
  • Improve rating and shipping efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with business and customer requirements.
  • Support business goals around carrier usage, cost, etc.
  • Manage dock operations efficiently and effectively. Includes managing order staging areas, truck loading operations, dock material flow, etc.
  • Lead audit process of picking. Audit/inspect shipments for order accuracy and customer compliance and adherence to internal processes.
  • Lead the cycle count function.
  • Ensure on time freight processing to ensure high levels of customer service.
  • Manage the bottom line by reducing unnecessary costs.
  • Manage the pick, pack, label, and ship process.
  • Maintain and communicate customer specifications/requirements.
  • Investigate issues, problem solving, and continuous improvement for all aspects of the job.
  • Cross train in other areas of Logistics and be able to perform other logistics tasks at a reasonable level (including Fulfillment Scheduling, Shipping, Audit, Cycle Count, etc.).
  • Maintain inventory accuracy by establishing, following and improving processes.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Identify and report any safety hazards immediately.
  • Ability to work in a team environment to accomplish goals.
  • Follow defined processes and identify opportunities to redefine processes.
  • Provide suggestions and feedback to management.
  • Other duties as required.
