About The Position

This role ensures legal compliance and provides import/export administration and control within government rules and regulations, including appropriate licensing for shipments. The Logistics Lead will review contracts for required clauses and identify omissions. They will work with internal and external customers, foreign order administration, freight forwarders, customs officers, and other departments to ensure coordination and logistics of shipments. The role involves selecting carriers/forwarders for shipment of products and preparing documents for freight forwarders. The position reports to the Logistics and Inventory Manager and requires onsite work in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, 5 days a week from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or 4 years equivalent work experience.
  • Legal authorization to work in Canada is required.
  • Will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future for this job opening.

Nice To Haves

  • 4 years equivalent work experience.
  • Experience coordinating international freight (air, ocean, LTL/FTL, small parcel).
  • Knowledge of TDG regulations (Class 9 and 8) and Dangerous Goods documentation.
  • Experience preparing export documentation such as commercial invoices, bills of lading, CERS declarations, and DG declarations.
  • Event or demo logistics for off‑site or global events.
  • Experience collaborating cross‑functionally with Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Production, Sales, and Customer Service.
  • Crating and packaging experience using power tools, rigging, hoisting, and forklifts.
  • Experience monitoring shipment tracking and resolving delays or compliance risks.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Continuous improvement mindset, with experience supporting process optimization.

Responsibilities

  • Run daily standups and set clear priorities.
  • Shipping, receiving, picking, packing, and material handling.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with transportation regulations, customs/export documentation, and general logistics processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Excel, Teams, SharePoint).
  • Operate forklifts, reach trucks, and pallet jacks.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Work with ERP systems for transactions and recordkeeping.
