Candidates experienced as USAF/USSF acquisition officers (AFSC: 63A) or developmental engineers (AFSC: 62E) leading satellite programs in the USSF (SSC), NRO, or SDA, applying the full range of the systems engineering discipline (e.g., Requirements Development, Architecture, SE milestones: SRR, PDR, CDR, etc.), and/or DAWIA/PMI Program Management will be especially well-prepared to excel. This position is for a Logistics Systems Engineer in Chantilly, VA supporting cutting-edge and innovative space programs. The Logistics Systems Engineer bridges security compliance with supply chain and asset management, ensuring secure, compliant transport, storage, and handling of unclassified to highly sensitive classified materials. In addition, the candidate selected for the Logistics Systems Engineer role will be responsible for coordinating across various locations at government and contractor sites on transport and storage.

Requirements

  • Candidates experienced as USAF/USSF acquisition officers (AFSC: 63A) or developmental engineers (AFSC: 62E) leading satellite programs in the USSF (SSC), NRO, or SDA, applying the full range of the systems engineering discipline (e.g., Requirements Development, Architecture, SE milestones: SRR, PDR, CDR, etc.), and/or DAWIA/PMI Program Management will be especially well-prepared to excel.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end transport of unclassified and classified materials, including identifying, packing, shipping, and conducting joint inventories of items.
  • Conduct audits, inventory reconciliations, and inspections to ensure proper tracking of unclassified to classified assets and materials in accordance with security protocols.
  • Develop and execute Operations Security (OPSEC) plans, providing oversight for secure logistics and protecting against risks to test and training activities.
  • Initiate inquiries into potential security incidents (loss or compromise of classified information), conduct investigations, and generate damage assessment reports.
